The epic strategy game Age of Empires is coming to mobile devices, Microsoft Xbox Game Studios announced on Wednesday.

The development was revealed during the Age of Empires 25th anniversary campaign, in which the developer said that the game will be released for iOS and Android devices.

Age of Empires has been remade for mobile devices, but this seems to be the most promising. Age of Empires: Castle Siege and Age of Empires: Microsoft released World Empire for mobile devices in 2015.

However, neither game went well. The real-world strategy game has been discontinued after a year. In contrast, the tower defense game Castle Siege, which is similar to DOTA 2, is only four years old. The Age of Empires Mobile trailer is only a few seconds long. It’s not a game yet, but it will be interesting to see how developers handle small strategy games for mobile devices. However, no release date has been announced and the teaser contains the phrase “coming soon”.

This is Microsoft’s latest attempt to enter the lucrative mobile gaming market; The company has been busy with the major acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which is expected to close in 2023.
