Karandaaz Pakistan Signs Data Sharing Deal with TASDEEQ Credit Bureau

A data exchange agreement has been formed between TASDEEQ, a private credit bureau operating in Pakistan, and Karandaaz Pakistan, a prominent provider of financial inclusion services in the nation. Under the cooperation, Karandaaz will have access to enterprise credit data for more than 70 sub-sectors in Pakistan, which will be made available on its cutting-edge Data Portal. This will give policymakers, financial organisations, and researchers insights into the country’s macroeconomic statistics and financial inclusion landscape.

The information will be broken down geographically at the province, district, and city levels as well as classified according to the kind of credit provider. In this agreement, a private credit bureau in Pakistan will provide aggregated data on a variety of credit indicators for the first time on a data platform that is open to the general public.

The relationship with TASDEEQ is a tribute to their efforts to provide depth and breadth to the data points on their platform, according to Mr. Waqas ul Hasan, CEO of Karandaaz. For researchers, academics, financial institutions, and decision-makers alike, the alliance, he continued, throws up a plethora of opportunities.

The primary activity of TASDEEQ, a private credit bureau authorised by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), is gathering credit information from numerous financial service companies. According to Mr. Mumtaz Syed, CEO of TASDEEQ, the organization’s goal is to provide data and insights to the Pakistani financial sector in order to advance financial inclusion.

The head of Karandaaz, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, emphasised the significance of information access for fostering openness and accountability in both the public and commercial sectors and for advancing development goals. She stated that the government urgently needs to implement open data practises and to improve its access to information.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reports, various financial inclusion surveys, the Economic Survey of Pakistan, the Population Census, Labor Force Surveys, and more are some of the publicly available sources of financial and economic data for Pakistan that are compiled and aggregated by the Karandaaz Data Portal. The portal offers a variety of data to stakeholders that may be tweaked and layered for study.

Overall, the collaboration between Karandaaz and TASDEEQ represents a significant advance in enhancing information access and fostering accountability and openness in Pakistan’s financial sector.
