Google Announces first-ever App Growth Lab in Pakistan

In Pakistan this year, Google will conduct seven Women Techmakers (WTM) events with the goal of empowering and assisting approximately 1,550 female developers across five locations. Workshops, networking opportunities, rallies, and conferences will all be part of the March through May events, which will also address the particular difficulties faced by women in technology.

The first occasion will take place on March 8 in conjunction with International Women’s Day and will carry the hashtag #DareToBe to inspire women to have the bravery and confidence to dream big and take chances. Local WTM Ambassadors will host the events with support from Google. The WTM Ambassador program aids female technologists who want to make a difference and give back to their communities.

According to Farhan S. Qureshi, Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, will advance diversity, equality, and inclusion in the digital industry, which is Google’s main goal. During a series of WTM events hosted in conjunction with IWD last year, more than 800 women developers received training in crucial subjects including internet safety, coding, and presenting skills.

Participants of last year’s program complemented the lively conversations, welcoming and pleasant feelings, and power-packed speeches on vital themes such as women’s workforce, education, and community building. The WTM activities for this year continue to assist the expansion and advancement of women in technology in Pakistan by building on the good outcomes from last year.
