Babar Azam Receives Sitara-e-Imtiaz Award on Pakistan Day

The captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, Babar Azam, is expected to become the nation’s youngest cricketer to win the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz award. Those who have significantly benefited Pakistan in a variety of sectors, including sports, are presented this honour by the country’s president.

In all three of the game’s formats, Babar Azam has set multiple batting records, solidifying his place in the cricketing world. He is now ranked among the top five across all three forms by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

In the 2021 World Cup, Pakistan defeated India in a historic triumph under his direction. In 2022, he also guided the group to the World Cup and Asia Cup finals.

Babar Azam has now joined the list of those who have previously earned the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award for their achievements to Pakistani cricket, including Abdul Qadir, Shahid Afridi, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Younis Khan.

This honour acknowledges Babar Azam’s contribution to Pakistani sport and his ongoing success as a player and captain. Many are eager to see what new heights he may take Pakistani cricket in the future as he continues to lead the squad.
