Syntax Communications, a top strategic communications and PR firm, hosted Pakistan’s first discussion session of its sort on how political parties could brand and fund their electoral campaigns, construct narratives for voters, and interact with stakeholders. “Not So Round Table” is Syntax Communications’ most recent forum where experts and analysts from many industries come together to discuss certain topics in-depth.
Several eminent journalists attended this occasion. Political pundits and social media influencers such Rehman Azhar, Asfhan Subohi, Maria Memon, Nadia Naqi, Muzamil Shah, Shehzad Ghias, and Mazhar Abbas. Participants discussed how political campaigns have changed over the years and what the future holds for them in the digital age. The occasion was also attended by Synergy Group COO Faheem Ahmed and Chairman and CEO Ahmed Kapadia.
Syntax Communications took the effort to cut through the noise and provide the political discussion a fresh viewpoint. Election campaigns rely heavily on technology, data mining, social media, and online surveys, and they are complete topics in and of themselves on a global scale. Pakistan is headed in that direction, but when it comes to campaigning, the party line and central leadership narrative are still more important than any local or on-the-ground factors.
“It is indeed an industry first from a PR & Communications industry’s perspective in Pakistan, whereby we managed to get a diversified outlook on political branding in one room and have a political debate with a marketing perspective,” said Ahmed Kapadia, Chairman and CEO of Synergy Group, in response to a question about the event. He continued by saying that this was just the first of many events and that we planned to do further educational sessions of a similar sort periodically throughout the year.
