Standard Chartered announces the launch of Women In Tech Cohort 5

The fifth cohort of the Women in Tech (WiT) program in Pakistan has officially begun, and Standard Chartered and INNOVentures Global (Pvt.) Ltd. are overjoyed to announce it. The bank’s global mission to combat inequality and advance economic inclusion includes this effort, a flagship program of Futuremakers by Standard Chartered.

The Women in Tech program’s main objective is to reduce the gender gap in entrepreneurship by assisting female-led businesses with capacity building. Female entrepreneurs will receive helpful advice on how to scale their enterprises through business management training and mentoring, which will be supported by the bank’s award-winning accelerator program.

Over 1200 female-led businesses have joined the Women in Tech project since it was introduced in Pakistan in 2019. Notably, 88 female founders have taken part in the bank’s accelerator program, marking a significant advancement in the cause of gender equality in the business world. Furthermore, 26 of these businesses have obtained seed capital following their graduation from the accelerator program and delivery of their closing pitches.

The Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Pakistan, Mr. Rehan Shaikh, stressed the bank’s dedication to fostering financial inclusion and education while also supporting the expansion of small companies. WiT supports the goals of the government by working to advance female-led businesses. This program has demonstrated over the past four years to be a fantastic platform for ambitious Pakistani women entrepreneurs, reducing barriers and generating possibilities for them to grow.
