The fast food restaurant business Subway is giving anybody who officially changes their first name to “Subway” the chance to win free “Deli Hero” subs for life. The online competition, which is available to all adults in the US, will run from August 1 through August 4 at SubwayNameChange.com. The lucky winner will be chosen at random, and Subway will pay for the name change’s processing and legal fees.
An appeal for “superfans” has been made after one fan camped out for two days to receive a tattoo of the Subway Series emblem in exchange for a lifetime of free sandwiches. This month, Subway unveiled its “Deli Hero” line of cold cuts that are freshly sliced.
More than 20,000 eateries were equipped with the new equipment thanks to the brand’s over $80 million investment in deli meat slicers. More than two million Deli Heroes have been sold since then. The prize is $50,000 worth of Subway gift cards, but the contest winner needs to submit a background check and show documentation of a name change within four months.
