The Beep Pakistan communication app was officially launched in Pakistan by the Ministry of Information Technology. The software, which supports 41 government ministries and departments, is slated for future distribution to the public.
Beep Pakistan was created as a WhatsApp substitute to support confidential government communication. Capabilities include voice and video calling, conferencing, and secure document transfer. Provincial levels will be added to the app’s reach.
Government representatives underline the security of it, pointing out that domestic servers and source code are used. Beep Pakistan is the result of 83 new projects that cost Rs. 79 billion to complete. Syed Amin Ul Haque, the federal minister for ICT and telecom, was among the notable attendees during the occasion.
The IT Minister discussed the creation of three new incubation centers over a four-year period while highlighting the app’s ability to stop audio and video breaches. Surprisingly, Pakistan’s production of smartphones has increased, helping IT exports go from $1 billion to $2.6 billion with a goal of $15 billion. The Data Protection Law and Cyber Security Policy are important accomplishments.
