Unforgettable Victory Against India in Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup

Pakistan outclassed India with a nail-biting 5-4 victory in a thrilling game at the Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup 2023 in Salalah, Oman, extending their unbeaten streak in the competition.

With an astounding 46 goals scored and a total of nine points, this astonishing victory is their third straight triumph in the competition, giving them the top spot.

Arshad Liaquat scored two goals during the spectacular effort, and he was supported by goals from Abdul Rehman, Zakriya Hayat, and Rana Abdul Waheed.

The President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced a rewarding incentive of $100 for each participating player in recognition of their great performance throughout the competition.

The same day, Pakistan had earlier displayed their dominance by crushing Bangladesh with a commanding score of 15-6. Pakistan’s forthcoming games include contests with Oman (set for 3 pm) and Malaysia (set for 8 pm) later today.

Following the conclusion of the pool matches, the first crossover games will pit the top two teams from the Challenger pool against the bottom two teams from the Elite pool.

The winners of these games advance to the crossover matches that follow, where they’ll compete against the third- and fourth-placed teams from the Elite pool.

The top two competitors from the Elite pool will then square off in an exciting semifinal match versus the winners of the second crossovers.

The losing semi-finalists will ultimately compete for the bronze medal, while the winning team will earn a prized spot in the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2024 together with the two other finalists.
