Dr. Omar Saif's Vision for IT Investment in Pakistan

During an investment conference organized in conjunction with US aid and Silicon Valley, Dr. Omar Saif, Pakistan’s minister of information technology, gave an important speech. Dr. Saif stressed the wide range of investment possibilities in Pakistan’s information and communications technology industry.

The time zone and pool of IT specialists in Pakistan are both favorable. A statewide digitization push and the training of an additional 200,000 IT workers were among the ambitious projects he highlighted. A comprehensive package that provides the IT industry with significant incentives and facilities has also been established.

Dr. Saif emphasized the elimination of obstacles to international investment in the IT industry, facilitating the inflow and outflow of foreign capital, especially dollars. Pakistan has started steps to increase mobile phone production in an effort to meet the demands of the world’s seventh-largest market. The Pakistani ICT industry provides a straightforward and friendly route for foreign investment, especially from the United States.
