Hundreds of American Jews gathered inside the US Congress in Washington, DC, to support a cease-fire in Palestine. 500 people attended the Congressional demonstration, according to Jewish Voice For Peace, an anti-Zionist Jewish activism group, and multiple arrests were made.
At the same time, about 10,000 people gathered outside to express their disapproval of how Palestinians are being treated and to call for an immediate ceasefire. In addition to demonstrating the range of viewpoints and positions on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the protests mark a substantial mobilization among the American Jewish community.
These events are a reflection of the ongoing discourse and action around the Israeli-Palestinian problem in the United States, where the urgency of the situation and the desire for a peaceful conclusion are communicated through both internal and exterior demonstrations.
