Conventional instructional robots frequently have closed hardware and software systems, high costs, and complexity. The CogLabs initiative provides accessible, interactive robotics and machine learning activities with the goal of inspiring the future generation. Its main goal is to increase people’s knowledge and comprehension of artificial intelligence (AI) while making machine learning approachable, entertaining, and engaging. Building a robot using 3D-printed parts, a smartphone, and simple electronic components teaches kids how to build machine-learning models. In 2021, Google and UNESCO worked together to introduce the Teachable Machine and launch CogLabs, which are accessible in three languages throughout Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. UNESCO also included the educational robot kit in its STEM program.

Infinix understands the critical role cell phones play in furthering the UNESCO Educational Robot initiative, with an emphasis on empowering adolescents. As part of this partnership, Infinix will provide UNESCO CogLabs workshops with technology, such as computers and smartphones, to improve the program.

Joan Nadal is a pioneer in STEAM education and human-centered design.

UNESCO Master Trainer for CogLabs Workshops Joan Nadal expressed pleasure about the STEM program’s global rollout, emphasizing its positive effects on students’ self-esteem and inventiveness. The CEO of Infinix Mobility, Benjamin Jiang, stressed the importance of ensuring that everyone can access and enjoy technological education.

Comprehensive instruction in machine learning, 3D design, 3D printing, and practical E3bot experiences are provided via the CogLabs workshops. With more seminars scheduled for 2024, these have empowered educators and students and nurtured the next generation of innovators in 35 countries through both on-site and virtual delivery.
