At the 26th Convocation of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) in Karachi, 1,446 graduates in a variety of subjects received degrees. Top representatives from IoBM graced the ceremony, recognizing Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree holders. Mr. Bashir Janmohammad, the chancellor, greeted guests and emphasized the value of graduates’ contributions to the development of the country.
CEO and IoBM alumnus Mr. Rizwan Ahmed Sheikh advised graduates to have faith in their nation and work for its progress in the keynote speech. With particular reference to the Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Centre, which has supported over PKR 6 million in funding and nurtured 20 businesses, President Mr. Talib S. Karim emphasized the expansion of IoBM. It was highlighted that IoBM places a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities and is dedicated to research, with support from the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC).
Dinah Kamal Hamidi, valedictorian, gave a reflection on the trip and urged the graduates to embrace the next stage of their lives and never forget their potential. Keynote Speaker Rizwan Ahmed Sheikh discussed the five success principles—Dream, Create, Believe, Achieve—which place a strong emphasis on hard work, perseverance, and discipline to achieve goals. The graduating class was awarded degrees in data sciences, entrepreneurship, finance, and commerce. 22 gold medals were given to the highest achievers in these categories. Interestingly, 872 graduated with a bachelor’s degree, 527 with a master’s, 33 with an MS/M.Phil., 47 with a merit certificate, and 14 with a PhD.
