Pakistani Passport Fee Increased by 50%

The Pakistani government has announced a significant increase in Machine Readable Passport (MRP) fees, effective March 7, 2024. This applies to all new passport applications submitted on or after this date.

The Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGI&P) clarified that any applications with fees deposited before March 7th at the old rates will require the difference to be paid at the new, higher rate before processing.

It’s important to note that passport issuance was recently suspended due to a technical issue at the Passport and Immigration headquarters. While the service is now operational, potential applicants are advised to stay updated on any further developments.
