International Nurses & Midwives Day Conference 2024

The Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery (AKU-SONAM) hosted the International Nurses & Midwives Day Conference 2024, celebrating the vital role these healthcare professionals play. Titled “Economy and Environment: Impact through Nursing and Midwifery Care,” the conference highlighted how nurses and midwives contribute to a healthier future.

Distinguished speakers explored the diverse benefits of this field. Dr. Farhat Abbas, CEO of AKUH, emphasized the economic impact of nurses and midwives, driving positive healthcare outcomes and growth. Ms. Khairunnissa Hooda, Chief Nursing Officer at AKUH, shed light on their critical contributions to patient care, hospital management, and sustainability. Dr. Tazeen Saeed Ali, Interim Dean of AKU-SONAM, stressed the importance of education in fostering a sustainable healthcare workforce equipped to address environmental challenges.
