AKU, IBA Organize Dialogue on Undergraduate Education

Leading educational institutions in Pakistan came together to discuss the future of undergraduate education. The dialogue, hosted by the Aga Khan University and the Institute of Business Administration, featured esteemed scholars from AKU, IBA, Habib University, Lahore University of Management Sciences, and the University of Balochistan.

The event focused on the evolving landscape of undergraduate education amidst global challenges and technological advancements. Participants discussed the balance between skill acquisition and theoretical knowledge, the interplay between specialization and interdisciplinarity, the potential of joint degrees, and the importance of inclusion and diversity.

Dr. Farid Panjwani, Dean of AKU-IED, emphasized the need for universities to critically reflect on the nature of undergraduate education to prepare students for an uncertain future. He stressed the importance of ensuring education remains fit for purpose and relevant to the challenges students will face.

The dialogue highlighted the need for collaboration among institutions to address the complex challenges facing higher education today.
