At least 26 civilians, including women and children, were martyred and 46 others injured in a series of coordinated Indian strikes across multiple locations in Pakistan, according to an official statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
The attacks, which Pakistan strongly condemned, targeted densely populated civilian areas as well as sacred religious sites. In Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur East, a devastating airstrike killed 13 civilians—among them two three-year-old girls, seven women, and four men—while injuring 37 others.
In Muridke, Punjab, a missile strike hit the Ummalkura Mosque, resulting in three deaths and one injury. A separate attack near Muzaffarabad struck the Bilal Mosque, killing three people and injuring two children. In Kotli, shelling targeted the Abbas Mosque, killing a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy. A mother and her daughter also sustained injuries in the same area.
Heavy firing along the Line of Control (LoC) further claimed five innocent lives, including that of a five-year-old child. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in attacks on Sialkot and Shakargarh.
The ISPR denounced the Indian aggression, labeling it a blatant violation of international law and human rights, and condemned the deliberate targeting of places of worship and civilian infrastructure.
This latest escalation in cross-border hostility underscores the rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, sparking concerns over regional stability and civilian safety.
