Really Pakistani Universities Banned Females to Calling their Male Students 'Bhai'?

Notifications from a couple of universities are going viral on various social media platforms, saying that female students have been forbidden from calling their male colleagues as ‘bhai’ (brother).

Female students are forced to address male students by their first names, according to notices supposedly issued by the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

When the purported message became another viral internet post, NUML on their social media account revealed that the statement was fake.

However, both universities flatly denied sending such notices. NUML has decided to take action against the administrators of the Facebook group as well as anyone else involved in bringing shame to NUML and other higher education institutes in the country.

In this context, NUML will also approach the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing (CCW) to officially submit a complaint against the Facebook page’s administrators.
