Residents of Islamabad were treated to a pleasant surprise earlier today as the federal capital was pounded by an unexpected torrential downpour and hailstorm that was accompanied by moderate to severe hail. The abrupt weather shift provided much-needed comfort to the residents as the city’s temperature had been rising over the previous few days. Many have expressed their joy at the pleasant weather in social media videos of the rain and hailstorm.

Despite the welcome weather change, the rain and hailstorm inconvenienced some of the locals. There were temporary blockages in several of the city’s drains, which created serious problems for the residents. The abrupt shift in the weather has, however, also given folks a chance to enjoy their favourite comfort foods and beverages while walking or driving in the rain.
