TikTok has officially launched its dedicated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) feed in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. This initiative is part of TikTok’s growing effort to make quality educational content more accessible, engaging, and inclusive for Pakistani users.
The in-app STEM feed offers a curated stream of high-quality, short-form educational content that promotes curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Designed for students, educators, and young professionals, the new feature aims to reimagine how STEM subjects are learned and shared online in both English and local languages.
To strengthen the ecosystem, TikTok is partnering with top academic institutions and launching a national training program for teachers and content creators. These trainings focus on enabling educators to produce effective and engaging STEM content tailored for TikTok’s dynamic format. The platform is also supporting the growth of a local STEM creator community to help scale this educational movement.
A dedicated #StemTok hashtag and a localized landing page have also been introduced to highlight and centralize educational content for easier discovery. From physics tricks and math hacks to real-world applications in climate science and engineering, the content aims to make STEM fun, practical, and relatable.
Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja praised the collaboration as a step forward in democratizing knowledge and empowering youth through digital platforms. Minister of State Wajiha Qamar emphasized how digital tools, when used wisely, can fuel creativity and build a future-ready generation.
Fahad Muhammad Khan Niazi, Head of Public Policy at TikTok Pakistan, called the launch a milestone in the app’s commitment to educational empowerment and innovation, underscoring how STEM education can transform lives through access and engagement.
This initiative builds on TikTok’s previous contributions in areas like digital literacy, small business support, and safety awareness in Pakistan. With government backing and academic collaboration, the STEM feed stands to become a key driver in reshaping digital education for millions of Pakistani learners.
