Netflix cancels Ahad Raza Mir and removes Resident Evil's second season

Netflix cancels Ahad Raza Mir and pulls the second season of Resident Evil. Netflix has decided not to air the second season of Resident Evil, an action-horror show based on the popular video game series of the same name.

According to rumors, the decision was made following the series’ July 14 debut, which did not fare well in Netflix’s Top 10. Resident Evil opened at No. 2 with a respectable 72.7 million hours watched.

However, have a big jump in Week 2 that one would expect for a new series as word of mouth spreads. It had 73.3M hours watched in its second week, which put it at No. 3, but then it dropped quickly and was no longer in the Top 10 after only three weeks. On Rotten Tomatoes, the latest Resident Evil incarnation received a dismal 55% from reviewers and 27% from the general public.

The cast of Resident Evil was put together by Netflix, and the plan is to work with them again in the future. The streaming service is already doing so with one of the actors, Paola Nez, who features in Netflix’s upcoming series Fall of the House of Usher as well as Fuga De Reinas, a Latin American Netflix film.

Resident Evil will not be renewed, but Netflix has hit shows like Stranger Things, Arcane, The Witcher, The Umbrella Academy, Shadow and Bone, Vikings: Valhalla, Sweet Tooth, Black Mirror, and the newest show, The Sandman, which has been a hit and is likely to be renewed.
