Celebrities pray for Pakistanis impacted by floods and ask fans to lend aid

We are in the midst of a national crisis caused by a global crisis. This year’s monsoon rains have been extremely heavy, causing flash floods across Pakistan. Organizations, both governmental and non-governmental, are working hard to maximize outreach and provide as much assistance as possible. Given the gravity of the issue, celebrities have begun to speak out about the need to act, asking their fans to do the same.

With the flood death toll at 937 and rising, Pakistan’s government has labeled the monsoon rain-induced floods a “climate-induced humanitarian calamity of epic proportions.” The floods have destroyed 30 million homes and left 30 million people homeless.

Celebrities are using their fame to help others by urging netizens to donate. Farhan Saeed, a singer, and actor, urged his fans to “do charity” and share the message to support “our people” in this time of need.

Actor Ahsan Khan expressed his displeasure with the current scenario by posting a video of a flood-affected toddler. “Let’s help them together!” he remarked after sharing the death toll and damage numbers.

“How would they defend themselves in front of Allah Almighty?” The actor Neelam Muneer wondered about officials who are not taking significant action to help the “homeless, displaced, and devastated” flood victims.

Amar Khan emphasised the gravity of the issue and urged her followers to “assist in whatever way” they could. If nothing else, she requested them to lift their hands in prayer for them.

Shaheen Afridi has asked all residents to pitch in and donate as much as they can. “Let us come out of this together,” he urged.

Feroze Khan, an actor, devised a way to manipulate the Instagram algorithm and convey the message to as many people as possible. He begged his followers to donate, to begin small but to begin.

Ayesha Omar, an actress, re-posted a video exhibiting flood damage, calling it “traumatising.” “All we have is each other,” she implored netizens. We must fend for ourselves as well as each other. We must do everything in our power to assist our people. Climate change is a real thing. THIS IS ONLY THE START. The time has come. “HELP, HELP, HELP AS MUCH AS YOU ARE ABLE.”
