Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz was unharmed after falling from a stage while speaking to flood victims in the far southwest of Punjab province on Wednesday. A video published on social media shows the PML-N leader standing on a temporary stage in Rajanpur, flanked by party leaders, when it collapses.

After the incident, the 48-year-old lawmaker slipped briefly, but she regained her equilibrium and finished her speech. In her address to the victims, she stated that PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif had directed him to visit flood-affected areas to express solidarity with the victims.

Maryam Nawaz has promised that the government will take all necessary steps to rehabilitate the victims who lost their homes as a result of the unusual monsoon rains that triggered flash floods across the country.

The death toll in the country has surpassed 1,100, and the floods have affected almost five million people in various ways across the country.
