The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a power rate increase of Rs3.39 per unit for the fourth quarter of 2021-22. The NEPRA has increased the power tariff under the quarterly fuel adjustment method, according to details. Customers’ increased contributions will begin in October.

After evaluating the evidence, the electricity regulator stated that it would provide a thorough decision later. Already plagued by inflation, the masses will have to bear Rs 95 billion. It is worth noting that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) approved an increase in power pricing of Rs 4.44 per unit on August 31 to account for the July 2022 monthly fuel adjustment (MFA).

A public meeting was convened by the electricity regulator to discuss the monthly fuel adjustment (MFA). The Central Power Purchasing Agency-Guarantee had applied for a hike in the energy tariff of Rs4.69 per unit, according to Nepra.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority raised the power tariff for K-Electric customers by Rs11.10 per unit on August 11. The authorization was granted in the form of fuel adjustment charges for June 2022. The letter says that the current price hike will show up on the bills for August and September 2022.
