Chinese Police will Train Punjab Police

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Faisal Shahkar, gave the update during his visit to the Punjab Constabulary Headquarters in Farooqabad, Sheikhupura, on Monday, for the completion ceremony of its 14th anti-riots training.

The IGP stated that the Punjab Police is improving and expediting its strategies for dealing with violent protests and demonstrations in a peaceful manner. He also stated that all of its personnel had attended a special anti-riots course in stages to learn how to deal with violent protesters in a peaceful manner.

A total of 456 Punjab Constabulary officers took part in the two-week course, where they proved their skills in dispersing unruly mobs in emergency situations during rallies.

The IGP praised the graduating police, saying that the training had taught them how to effectively deal with aggressive groups.

Ehsan Tufail, Commandant Punjab Constabulary, revealed that the anti-riots training course was devised based on modern policing tactics, and that approximately 7,000 troops had participated in it.

It was also learned that the IGP presided over a meeting at which the Commandant Punjab Constabulary discussed various professional topics, including training courses for the force, and the IGP issued instructions regarding training module upgradation.
