Evergreen Shipping Gives Massive Mid-Year Bonuses to Employees

The 3,100 employees of Taiwanese shipping company Evergreen will receive incentives at the halfway point of the year equal to 10 to 11 months’ worth of pay. This comes after the business in December handed its employees year-end bonuses equal to up to 52 months’ worth of pay. The $94 million in mid-year bonuses, according to Evergreen, will depend on each employee’s performance.

The annual salary at the corporation range from $29,545 to $114,823. Employees could potentially earn more than five years’ salary in bonuses for 2022. The corporation reported a record net profit for its fiscal year ending December 31, 2022, of NT$334.2 billion (S$14.7 billion), an increase of 39.82% year over year. Success has been ascribed to rising transportation costs as well as the recovery of the global container shipping sector following the removal of Covid-19 lockdowns in numerous nations.

Evergreen claimed to be dedicated to recognising its employees for their commitment and diligence. The company’s hefty bonuses have been lauded as an improvement in staff morale and a sign of the success of the business. With a fleet of more than 200 ships, Evergreen is one of the biggest shipping firms in the world. It has a significant presence in Asia, Europe, and the Americas and operates in more than 80 nations.
