Descon's Blume Agri Set to Redefine Pakistan's Agri Sector

An important turning point in Descon’s journey toward agricultural innovation was highlighted in a momentous event. Abdul Razak Dawood, the founder of Descon, and Faisal Dawood, vice-chairman, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Blume Agri, a breakthrough project worth PKR 1 billion. Mr. Zahid Hussain, CEO Rafum Group & Director Blume Agri, and Mustapha Yousaf, CEO Blume Agri, were also in attendance.

The forthcoming project, which is scheduled to begin operations in December 2023, hopes to act as a catalyst for change in the local economy. Local catering, encouraging import substitution, and promoting agricultural self-reliance will be the main priorities throughout the first two years.

The cutting-edge Blume Agri factory will be a fully automated, integrated food processing facility that makes use of international industry best practices. Producing high-quality dried goods for domestic and international markets through the dehydration of fruits, vegetables, and spices can reduce post-harvest losses and increase Pakistan’s foreign exchange holdings.

Abdul Razak Dawood’s dedication to the agricultural industry is unshakable. Investments in knowledge and infrastructure are made in order to maximize market potential, reduce post-harvest losses, and take advantage of global prospects.

Descon’s commitment is shown by significant investments in research, development, specialty fertilizers, and cutting-edge infrastructure. Partnerships with national and local organizations are sought because we believe in the potential of agriculture.

The agriculture industry in Pakistan holds great promise, according to Faisal Dawood, vice chairman of Descon. The strategic road map is in line with becoming a global leader in agriculture, innovation, and export excellence.

This innovative concept, according to Mr. Zahid, “aims to contribute towards import substitution and boost exports of agri and fruit-based items to the Middle East and Europe.”

For Blume Agri’s voyage, Mustapha Yousaf designed a thorough road map that concentrated on regional employment, import substitution, and international export. Future agricultural developments in Pakistan are anticipated to be significant.

Descon’s unwavering dedication to changing Pakistan’s agricultural landscape continues to be at the forefront. The upcoming years hold the potential of an export-focused strategy that will greatly boost both the regional economy and the world of agriculture.
