Spotify has released fascinating data detailing the artists, tracks, and genres that are most popular among this group of music aficionados as the youth continue to dictate musical trends in Pakistan. The most recent statistics demonstrate the diverse interests of the younger generation in this nation with a combination of hip-hop, rap, and electro sounds from Pakistan and beyond taking center stage.

The most streamed track for listeners between the ages of 16 and 20 is “Lagda Nahi” by Ammy Gill and Toshi. “Iraaday” and “Bikhra” led the 21-to-27 age group. Top Streamed Artists: Abdul Hannan was discovered by Spotify and is currently the most streamed artist, followed by Atif Aslam and Talha Anjum.

Impact of Spotify on Musical Trends: Spotify’s availability in Pakistan gives the younger generation more power to influence musical trends. For Gen Z, the top local playlists include “Hot Hits Pakistan,” “Shaadi Hits,” “Desi Hits,” “Desi Lofi,” and “Punjabi Sauce.” The top two playlists for millennials stay the same, with “Pakka Hit Hai” and “Desi Hits” coming in third and fourth, respectively. The final track on the top 5 playlists is “Desi Lofi”.

Arijit Singh, famed for his heartache ballads, is at the top of the chart for both age groups (16–20 and 21–27). The remaining top five performers—Pritam, Taylor Swift, Shubh, and AP Dhillon—display a variety of musical tastes from throughout the world.

The introduction of Spotify to Pakistan has transformed music streaming and given the younger generation a significant voice in determining musical trends. Gen Z and millennials in Pakistan are at the forefront of the country’s changing music industry, preferring different genres and late-night music sessions. Spotify is their preferred platform for musical exploration.
