Standard Chartered Elevates Parental Leave Benefits for Inclusivity

Standard Chartered is making a bold move to promote a more inclusive workplace by announcing a significant upgrade to its parental leave benefits that will take effect on September 1, 2023. With a minimum of 20 weeks of fully compensated parental leave, this revolutionary program empowers all parents, regardless of gender. The objective is to aid working parents in striking a healthy balance between their personal and professional life while placing an emphasis on their general well-being.

Rehan Shaikh, CEO of Standard Chartered Pakistan, highlights the significance of this gender-neutral caregiving policy by saying, “Parental leave allows you to devote quality time to your expanding family. Prioritizing the physical, emotional, and mental health of our employees and their families is a part of our holistic approach.

“At Standard Chartered Pakistan, our commitment to fostering an environment where our colleagues can thrive remains unwavering,” continues Shaikh. To improve the experiences of our coworkers and help them reach their full potential, we will continually question norms and create purpose-driven perks. Inspiring other industries to do the same will help Pakistan achieve a more inclusive society, we hope.

In addition to demonstrating Standard Chartered’s commitment to employee welfare, this program also raises the bar for corporate responsibility in Pakistan, in line with the bank’s aim to advance inclusivity and a healthy work-life balance.
