For the coming Pakistan Super League (PSL) games that will be staged at the National Stadium from February 14 to February 26, 2023, the Karachi traffic police have released a detailed traffic plan. The strategy is to guarantee easy traffic flow and reduce congestion throughout the games.
Traffic police have designated parking spots for press cars and onlookers as part of the strategy. Media cars travelling from Karsaz will be told to park at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground, which are both reachable from Sir Shah Suleman Road and Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road via the Stadium Flyover. Likewise, media cars arriving from New Town and Millennium Mall would be told to park on Sir Shah Sulaiman Road.
Gharib Nawaz Football Ground will direct spectators from different parts of the city to park in Dalmia. Spectators must show their original identification cards and match tickets to enter the parking lot. From the parking lot, shuttle services will take passengers to the National Stadium.
Hassan Square Bridge and Liaquatabad No. 10 Road have been blocked to traffic by the traffic police in order to ensure the safety and security of the matches. Similarly to this, while vehicles can still travel from Stadium Road to Hassan Square, they won’t be allowed to turn into the stadium from the Expo Centre’s turn onto University Road. Heavy traffic will not be allowed in any way from the Stadium Signal to Hassan Square.
General people have been urged by the traffic police in Karachi to assist law enforcement officials and traffic officers during the games. With this strategy in place, spectators can take in the PSL games without worrying about traffic jams or security issues.
