Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Dean's Vision for Nurturing Future Leaders

Aga Khan University (AKU)’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) recently held a roundtable discussion to honor its first class of students and explore the specifics of the freshly established faculty. The inaugural dean of FAS, Dr. Stephen Lyon, outlined the school’s goal, highlighting its dedication to fostering critical thinking and a deep comprehension of society and the environment in addition to information transfer. He sees FAS alums as future innovators, leaders, and agents of change.

Dr. Lyon emphasized how FAS undergraduates benefit from AKU’s top-notch teaching arrangement, which broadens their viewpoint in their chosen subjects and equips them for success in cutthroat employment markets. Vice Provost Dr. Anjum Halai of AKU reiterated this idea, describing the Faculty as a doorway to endless possibilities. She highlighted the wide range of offerings, first-rate infrastructure, and globally-recognized courses that FAS has introduced to Pakistan.

Dr. Halai further stressed the importance of a strict admissions procedure that chooses the best and most committed students from all throughout Pakistan. By 2027, FAS hopes to reach its full enrollment target of 400 students. It will provide financial aid to worthy students, guaranteeing that students from all backgrounds will have equal access to high-quality education.
